Dr. Katrina Phillips is a citizen of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe. She earned her BA and PhD in History from the University of Minnesota, and she teaches Native American history and the history of the American West at Macalester College. She’s written several children’s books, including the 2022 American Indian Youth Literature Award Honor Book Indigenous Peoples’ Day (Traditions & Celebrations) and most recently the picture book I Am on Indigenous Land.
