Cameron Samuels

In high school, Cameron Samuels (they/them) packed school board meetings in Texas and distributed hundreds of banned books to fight censorship. Cameron co-founded Students Engaged in Advancing Texas (SEAT) and testified to the U.S. Senate at a hearing on book bans. President Barack Obama recognized Cameron for their advocacy, and Cameron was named one of Teen Vogue’s 21 Under 21 changemakers and served as the inaugural Youth Honorary Chair of Banned Books Week.
