Meg Medina is the author of many award-winning books for young people of all ages, including the Newbery Medal for Merci Suárez Changes Gears and the Pura Belpré Award for Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass, now a graphic novel. The daughter of Cuban immigrants, she is the first author of Latina heritage to be the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. She grew up in Queens, New York, and now lives in Richmond, Virginia, where she spends many hours writing, reading, and listening.
